2 Google Fonts Similar to Trajan
Trajan is a serif typeface designed in 1989 by Carol Twombly. It was designed for Adobe. It was inspired by Roman square capitals. It is great for elegant titles and headlines.
Serif fonts can be difficult to find good alternatives to since they are so intricate. Trajan was even more difficult since it is all uppercase.
Despite all of that I believe that I have two good fonts that are similar to Trajan if you only use the uppercase.
What Google Fonts are Similar to Trajan?
The best Google Fonts that are similar to Trajan are:
- Cinzel
- EB Garamond
Either one of these fonts will work as a good alternative. So let's jump in and cover their similarities and differences between the two.
Cinzel
Cinzel is a great serif typeface inspired by roman inscriptions. It does a great job attempting to match the unique uppercase "Q" that Trajan has.
It also matches other unique letters such as the "J" and "M". These two fonts are very identical which makes Cinzel a great option if you are on a budget.
I made a few images for you to compare for yourself.
EB Garamond
EB Garamond is another great option. Although it is not equal, it does attempt to match that unique uppercase "Q".
You will notice an difference in the "J" as well. However, the other letters it does a great job matching when it comes to the shape of the letters.
