Bodoni is a serif font created by Giambattista Bodoni. This modern font was originally inspired by Baskerville. It is now modernized for web use.

There are many different Bodoni fonts that have been reinvented over the years.

In this article, I cover the most similar looking fonts to Bodoni from Google Fonts.

What Google Fonts are Similar to Bodoni?

The most similar looking Google Fonts to Bodoni are:

  • Bodoni Moda
  • Arapey
  • Prata

All three of these would make for decent alternatives. So let's cover the differences between each one.

Bodoni Moda

Bodoni Moda is the most similar looking. It is part of the Bodoni family that was made for the digital age.

It works great for headlines and titles. The best part is that it is free to use from Google font.

It is hard to find any differences between these two. From closely examining the two fonts it seems that Bodoni Moda is a little wider. Other than that they are extremely similar.

Go ahead and compare for yourself.

Arapey

Arapey is a serif font with some Bodoni features. It features soft lines and finishes that give it a distinguished look.

It also does an amazing job in matching the majority of the Bodoni letters.

However, if you pay close attention, you will notice a small difference in the lower and uppercase "q".

Take a look for yourself.

Prata

Prata is the final font on this list because it also features many similarities. I would recommend with using either one of the fonts above before this one. However, if none of those above work then this would also make a good alternative.

You will see that it matches many letters well, but you can see the big difference between the "y" and a minor difference in the lowercase "g".

Have a look.
